Facing the Giants

From Ethan -

This movie is so good! It is a Christian movie with good character development and godly characters. Coach Taylor is so godly in the way he coached his team. He stuck with them and encouraged them to reach their goals. It is a movie that inspires you that no matter how you are good or bad, you can still do great things. At the end, they won the State Championship twice.

Facing The Gaints

It was okay. the story line was very good but i like last weeks better. The acting was really bad but thats okay.

FACING THE GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!

okay..... I have seen this movie before and I love it!!!!! It was a joy to watch it again. Some of my favorite parts is when he gets the new truck, when Coach Taylor comes outside and sees everyone praying. Also, Gods faithfulness to the coaches and the team!!!!! Everything turned around when Coach Taylor decide to not play for them but to play for God!!!!! I love seeing them go to STATE and watching how the coach kept pushing them to do there VERY BEST.......... Another awesome part was when Coach Taylor made "brot" carry that guy across the whole field, when brot only thought that he was going to go to the 50 yard mark. I love this movie and cant wait to talk about it on Friday!!!!!!!

Facing the Giants

Okay, I have to admit before I had even watched this movie I thought I was going to not like it. But when the movie was over I told my Dad that I loved this movie! I liked how there were all the problems like how reality is. I liked how there were problems with a dead mouse, leaking, stove not working, car's battery dying, wanting to have kids, not winning the games, behind the back trying to get kicked off of the position as head coach. The movie had real life struggles, but through God they won! Once Grant realized that you cannot you simple can't go through life trying to find a way out or just giving up. You need, you have to have God in your life. He will help you.
In my Bible school work recently I have been learning about Jesus' life starting when he was born and all the miraculous miracles He had done. It just really hits you that You need God in life more than anything, you need to put him at the front. I loved when Coach Grant realized that life is impossible without God. I loved that he had changed the way he acted throughout the movie and you could tell that he had put his faith in front of him again.
I loved the African American coach(I forgot his name). He just reminded me of one of my old P.E. coaches at my old school. Also I loved the scene where that coach was telling David and ministering to him while encouraging him. All in all this movie was a great true story how life can be and you simply cannot succeed without God!
"I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD; the Maker of Heaven and earth."

Facing the Giants

I have seen this movie many times, and I always cry when the coach comes to the football field and every one is praying and asking God for forgiveness. I also "yellled" at the tv a whole lot! My grandma was making a joke saying," you'd think they learn from their mistakes the second time".

Week #3 - Facing the Giants

Now this has to be one of my favorite movies.

It's funny cause I'm pretty drama-oriented and this movie has pretty lousy directing. The characters, especially at the beginning, are stiff and they look uncomfortable. Most of the time people would say that the movie has terrible acting, but I blame the director.

Despite that, it is a delight to watch! It makes me laugh and cry!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I loved this movie!

posted by Jeremy W.

I liked it because it was about football and I liked how at the end it showed that blacks and whites were equal and could get along together.

REMEMBER THE TITANS

This movie is not my type. But the meaning is what is important. I like how they go from being mean and pregudice to nice and fighting for each other.

Remember the Titans

Remember the Titans is a movie open with choices. In the movie people had different sides and they had the choice to pick which side they wanted. I thought that Coach Boones was a little strict with them at the camp but hey how would I know because I am not a football coach. However in the end that strictness went and helped the team out. I always liked the singers in this movie and how randomly in the time of stress and people hating eachother they would just sing. One point in this movie is how Emma was talking with Gary and Gary wanted her to give Julius a chance but she had said I have picked my side or somethin like that. Then later on at the last game she went over to Julius and shook is hand. Also how Gary's mom didn't want to give Juluis a chance and how Gary said you have to give it time and get to know them and once Gary's mom had done that she liked Julius alot. Then at the funeral she was standing by Julius. I dont know why but that scene had reminded me of when Jesus was dying on the cross and He said to Peter to take care of Mary.

Remember the Titans

I loved this movie!!! Practicly all my favorites are about football(We are marshal,Facing the giants, and now Remember the titans), I cryed alot in the movie especially when Bertier got ingured ,and then he died.COME ON !!! Talk about making a girl cry!

The movie was a little weird, but i liked how Mr.Magorium's talked, and how he acted like a ten year old.

Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium

Well.... This movie is full of surprises! I love little Eric. He cares so much about the store and everything in it. Also, I think it was sweet how Molly made Mr.m's last day the best one. Another thing that was excited is when Henery and Molly were talking and she was saying that she believes in the BLOCK OF WOOD! and it moved. Then it started to move and move..... then start to fly.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

From Ethan:

There is only one word to describe this movie, strange. I thought the movie was a little hard to follow. Eric was really funny with his hat collection, so was Mr. Magorium himself. He's not like a adult (although he is 243 years old), more like a little kid. Mahoney was just tying to get out of the job being 23 years old. The store itself was sulking in the end and then it got happy again with the block of wood. (Very interesting, I wonder who came up with that idea).

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

This movie had some significant dialogue in it. I loved the lines where Molly says to Mr.Magorium that he has to live, but Mr.Magorium said that he has lived. That can mean so much into our everyday lives. I liked the character of Eric. He has an extraordinary imagination and he didn't care what people thought of him. Eric had shown to Henry that even though you're an adult you can still live a day with pretending and using the gifts that God has given you. This movie was a wonderful description of how you just need to have faith and love in something and it becomes possible.God has put us on this earth for a reason and we need to live it to the fullest; serving Him to the best of our ability.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

The movie was very good! I though it was very creative. Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman  are great actors!
The toy store was really cool! I wish it was reall!  I also really liked Eric, he was a good actor.

Mr. Magoriums's Wonder Emplorium

This movie was awesome! I had no idea the movie was going to be like this. I LOVED the toy store. I wish I could work there. The little boy that played Eric is one of my favorite actores, so that made it super cool to watch.I do not like movies with "bad guys" in them so that is another reason I liked this movie.

Radio

The movie Radio was very exiting ,you never knew what was going to happen next. This is not a favorite but, was not the worst. In my opinion the second half was better than the first half.I was on the edge of crying when Radios mom died.I liked how in the end the kids treated him nicer. I would rate this movie a 6.

RADIO

I really enjoyed this movie Radio! This was way different then what I thought it was going to be. The coaches love for Radio was amazing. Radio was devastated when his mom passed away, but the coach helped him through it. At the beginning of the movie all of the kids were mean, but you see at the end of the movie everyone likes him. Another part I liked was when Radio gave Jonny one his radio's, as well has a letter.

Radio

From Ethan Cortado

I thought the movie was very good and encouraging. It makes you think how much mentally slow people get laughed at and how difficult it is for them to live in this world. His mom helped him get through his life by encouraging and being patient with him. Coach Jones also did the same thing by taking the time to help Radio and also encouraged many others to help Radio, too. I learned that there are many people like Radio in this world today. It made me think that though you are disabled in some way, you can get through with help from others and just being yourself. The end is very uplifting with Radio graduating in eleventh grade and how twenty-six years later, he becomes the coach of the football team. Because of that graduation his life changed forever.

Radio-My thoughts

I thouht the movie was a very good movie for discussion. Radio was a person with some disabilitties, but his mom loved him with all her heart and that didnt change the fact that he was disabled. I loved how Coach Jones loved him and shared the love of teaching and growing and learning the ability to be loved, with Radio. Also Johny's dad Frank was the 75% of what the world thinks about how ways should be. Frank thinks that everyone should be the same and that the others who are different just in little ways should be thrown out and not cared for. Coach Jones was similar to the samaritan in the parable that Jesus told. Coach Jones was like the samaritan who helped the guy who was beaten and robbed of all he had. However Frank was the other 2 people who just passed on by and didn't care about anything except himself or in this case the chance for his son to be the star player.
